Review of books is one of the main sections of this journal. Books of forensic importance are regularly being reviewed by experts of international repute. However some books are of such paramount importance that we at the journal office thought one review may not be able to do justice to that book. One opinion may be slanted, perhaps by the individual tastes and preferences of the reviewer. Reviewers from different continents, nations, even different parts of the same nation may perceive a book differently. Why not send books to two or more different reviewers and get their opinion. We requested several publishers to do that and they obliged.

From Volume 3, Number 1, January - June 2002, we started reviews of certains books of paramount importance as "featured books". The first book to be featured on our journal was Ecotoxicology: The Study of Pollutants in Ecosystems by F. Moriarty (Published by Academic Press). The response of the readers has been overwhelming. They seem to have liked this new genre, and they want more reviews in this format. This time we are reviewing a very good book Forensic Radiology, (1^st edition) authored by B.G. Brogdon. Since it was a book on forensic radiology, we thought it would be best to send the book to a forensic pathologist as well as to a radiologist. The book was sent to two different reviewers - Puneet Setia, a forensic pathologist and Sumer Sethi, a radiologist.

Brogdon's Forensic Radiology  In November 2010, CRC Press is coming out with a completely revised and updated edition of this book. Along with Brogdon, the book is being edited by Michael J. Thali, of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Berne, Switzerland and Mark D. Viner of the Cranfield Forensic Institute, Wiltshire, UK. We all know Thali and Viner well. They are already legends in the field of forensic imaging, with Thali having even written an entire book of his own on a similar subject. The second edition features entirely new material on the large scale investigation of war crimes and human rights abuses; recent technological changes and the role of virtual autopsies; the use of sectional imaging for dental identification; reconstruction of gunshot injuries; new techniques for portable x-ray, computerized data recording, and image analysis post-processing; as well as increased coverage of applications in non-biological materials. Case studies feature tsunamis and the London bombings. Watch out this space!

The reviewers were requested not only to send us detailed reviews, but also to rate this book on a scale of ten. The following rating scale was provided to the reviewers.
